Adopt

Find Your Furever Friend

MadCats has rescued kittens for adoption! These little bundles of energy are not only adorable, but they’re also in need of safe, loving homes. By adopting, you’re giving a second chance to a kitten who may have faced a rough start—and gaining a loyal companion in the process. Open your heart, and you might just find your new best friend purring right into it.

When we are overflowing with kittens, MAD Cats partners the two organizations listed below to transfer our well socialized  kittens into their Adoption Programs.

Fredericksburg SPCA

Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA

Charles County Animal Care Center and Cat Cafe/Feline Felons Cat Cafe

This allows us to rescue and foster even more kittens that are in need!

Who We Rescue

  • Neonatal Orphans: From a few hours old to ~8–10 weeks (still socializable).

  • Pregnant Moms: Too far along to be spayed.

  • Moms with Litters: Ensuring full family care.

Life in Foster Care

  • Kittens live and play with other kittens under careful supervision.

  • They are rarely left alone for more than a couple of hours, making them extremely affectionate and people-oriented.

  • Kittens under 5 months do best in pairs if you have no other cats at home.

  • Young kittens should not be left alone for more than about 2 hours at a time.

  • They have a safe space (like a dog crate or a secure room) for kittens when alone to keep them safe and out of trouble.

Choosing the Right Age

  • Under 5 Months:

    • Best adopted in pairs unless other cats are at home.

    • Should not be left alone for more than 2 hours.

    • Provide a safe resting space (e.g., crate or separate room).

  • Gone Over 5 Hours Daily?

    • Consider adopting an older kitten (8+ months) or a friendly adult cat.

    • We often rescue friendly adults from colonies—they make wonderful companions!
