Foster with Mad Cats!

Why Do We Foster?

MAD Cats does not have a shelter. All cats in our care live in foster homes until they are transferred to one of our rescue partners or adopted. We can’t rescue cats without foster homes to care for them.

Cat Foster Process

Before going to a foster home, all MAD CATS cats have been:

- Vaccinated for distemper (as appropriate based on age and health)

- Examined for Ringworm

-Treated for any known health issues (or treatment is underway)

* Note: It is common for foster cats to need follow up vet care, at MAD CATS’s expense, while in foster care. Our vet clinic is Blue Ridge Animal Hospital in Culpeper. Our vets are Dr Young and Dr Miller.

You do not need prior experience with cats or fostering

We match the needs of our cats with your level of experience, work and travel schedules, and home

To be a cat foster for MAD CATS, you must live within 10 miles of the towns of Madison or Culpeper.

You will be matched with a mentor from our foster care team to guide you through your foster experience.
