Trap Neuter Return (TNR) and Spay/Neuter

Our TNR and S/N services are available to colony caretakers and owners of domestic cats in Madison, Greene and Culpeper Counties.* TNR is the humane trapping of cats, including overnight care, transportation to the clinic,  surgery and Rabies vaccination, aftercare and returning them to their colony.

Domestic Spay/Neuter (S/N)*

This program is to assist owners of friendly pet cats who can travel in a carrier to receive surgery, FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations.

*Feb. 2025: Due to a great need for this program, we are scheduling 3-4 months out. If you have a female at risk of pregnancy, please seek out another resource to get her spayed quickly. A reminder that female kittens can become pregnant as early as 5 months!

Kitten Fostering, Rescue & Adoptions

Kitten intake is available year-round to clients working with MAD Cats TNR and S/N programs and to residents who find kittens in need of assistance.  Once MadCats takes these cats in, they are become part of our foster and adoption program for placement into new homes.

Food Assistance

MadCats makes food available to colony caretakers who have worked with MAD Cats in our TNR program to spay/neuter and vaccinate their community cats. In Madison County MESA food pantry provides cat food and in Culpeper, MAD Cats provides bagged dry food monthly through Empowering Culpeper, 3rd Sat of the month, 8-11 am.
